Information on Programs Offered:Animation and Visual Effects The Expression Animation and Visual Effects Program is designed to enhance the student's knowledge and skills through an intensive series of courses that cover a wide spectrum of digital visual media including 3D modeling and animation, texture and lighting, compositing, digital film and video effects, creating graphics for the Internet and more. Students gain experiential knowledge through extensive lab time using multiple hardware platforms. A one-to-one (student-to-machine) lab ratio allows students to individually explore the intricacies of a wide variety of graphics software. Students create a series of projects throughout the program in addition to a final project specially developed to demonstrate their knowledge and abilities to potential employers. Graphics and compositing software and hardware utilized in the program include packages from Alias|Wavefront Maya, Adobe, Macromedia, Kaydara, Microsoft, Vicon, and others. Students who graduate from the Animation and Visual Effects Program will be prepared for entry-level employment as graphic artists, compositing artists, 3D animators and modelers and more. Expression’s Game Art & Design Program begins with strong Fine Arts fundamentals, and builds upward towards advanced conceptual design. If you are looking to apply your talent in the interactive 3D realm, or want to manipulate the latest game engines in a professional pipeline environment, Game Art & Design will give you the artistic and technical foundation to make your mark in the game industry. Our program will give you the tools and concepts you need for your dream job in the game industry.Expression’s Motion Graphic Design program provides students with a traditional design background in addition to learning professional grade motion graphic design. Students learn the fundamentals of design: everything from traditional drawing, typography, concept creation and color theory, to web, 3D and motion design. Software learned includes Adobe CS Suite, After Effects, Autodesk Maya, Dreamweaver, and CSS. Some popular classes involve making movie title sequences and a full-length music video as well as other projects with real life clients. Training in this challenging program prepares students for a design career in broadcast, film, web, advertising and other industries.Expression's Sound Arts department is dedicated to giving students the widest skill set on the planet. Whether it's mixing a record, posting a movie, composing a ringtone, sound for toys, sound for video games, recording a voice over, or running a live concert, every student graduates from Expression with more knowledge than any employer could ask from them.
