    Information on Programs Offered:

    Upon successful completion of a program of instruction, the graduate will be awarded an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice degree provided all financial obligations to the school have been met and a minimum grade point average has been attained. To graduate, a student must attain a minimum, cumulative grade point average of 2.0. In addition, all students must meet with Career Services and Financial Aid, and must complete and sign all documentation prior to being approved for graduation.Diagnostic medical sonography utilizes high frequency sound waves to produce dynamic visual images of organs, tissues, or blood flow inside the body. These images aid physicians in their diagnosis of the patient. Sonographers typically work closely with patients and radiologists in clinical health-care settings, including medical centers, medical clinics, and physicians’ offices. FAVORABLE JOB OUTLOOK The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics 2008-09 Occupational Outlook Handbook says that “job opportunities [for Sonographers] should be favorable, with employment expected to increase by about 19 percent through 2016—faster than the average for all occupations.” NOTE: Graduation from the program does not guarantee entry into any career. Additional requirements may apply depending on an individual’s previous education and work experience.

    This program combines visual communication and solid design principles with a general education component relating to the fast-paced graphic design industry.

    Upon successful completion of a program of instruction, the graduate will be awarded an Associate of Arts in Graphic Design provided all financial obligations to the school have been met and a minimum grade point average has been attained. A presentation quality portfolio must be presented, reviewed, and approved by a committee appointed by the Dean of Academics or designee. For the Graphic Design program, a presentation quality portfolio must be presented, reviewed, and approved by a committee appointed by the Dean of Academics or designee. In addition, all students must meet with Career Services and Financial Aid, and must complete and sign all documentation prior to being approved for graduation.

    This program prepares students for an exciting career in health care by training them to use insurance billing and coding software, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel.

    Upon successful completion of a program of instruction, the graduate will be awarded an Associate of Science; Medical Administrative Specialist degree provided all financial obligations to the school have been met and a minimum grade point average has been attained. To graduate, a student must attain a minimum, cumulative grade point average of 2.0. In addition, all students must meet with Career Services and Financial Aid, and must complete and sign all documentation prior to being approved for graduation.

    This program teaches students anatomy and medical terminology and provides hands-on instruction in the practices and procedures that are used in doctors' offices, hospitals, labs, and other health care provider facilities.

    Upon successful completion of a program of instruction, the graduate will be awarded an Associate of Science in Medical Assisting provided all financial obligations to the school have been met and a minimum grade point average has been attained. To graduate, a student must attain a minimum, cumulative grade point average of 2.0. In addition, all students must meet with Career Services and Financial Aid, and must complete and sign all documentation prior to being approved for graduation.

    Platt College's Multimedia program builds on your current design experience by training you on the most up-to-date programs and applications-in just 5 months. You'll have a solid grasp of Web Design, Interactive Design, Digital Video/Motion Graphics, and 3D Modeling and Animation.

     

    Multimedia is a unique combination of creativity and technology. In Multimedia, students learn the integration of multiple types of media: text, illustrations, photos, sound, voice, motion graphics, music, and video. The curriculum covers software fundamentals, terminology, key concepts, authoring, video production, web page design and creation, and 3D modeling. These skills can lead to an entry-level position in a web design or multimedia studio as well as enhance abilities and job knowledge in a traditional commercial graphic environment. The comprehensive and broad-based Multimedia Program addresses the industry’s growing need for people trained in a variety of multimedia disciplines.

    The Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication (BAVC) develops professionals who take concepts and then create visual imagery by employing type, illustration, sound, music, photography, and animation. Virtually every aspect of modern life is impacted by the visual communicator whether by products purchased, entertainment individuals enjoy, or the way in which people communicate. Graduates of the Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication degree program will produce a professional portfolio that will make them viable candidates for employment in the myriad of industries related to visual communication.

    The Platt College Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication degree has two specializations: 3D Animation/Video and Interactive/Web. Both specializations are dynamic and will provide graduates with skills necessary to be effective in careers in these popular and ever expanding industries.

    The 3D Animation/Video specialization includes coursework in architectural 3D, video production, 3D character development, DVD production, advanced 3D animation, advanced motion graphics, video compositing, and digital editing.

    In the Interactive/Web specialization, students will experience classes focusing on web page design, Flash animation, programming for the web, DVD production, action scripting, interactive production, and server technologies.

    Both specializations conclude with interactive courses in portfolio preparation designed to better prepare graduates to conduct effective interviews, self-marketing, as well as produce a highly professional and competitive portfolio.

     

    Our Paralegal program provides a thorough understanding of the judicial system, legal training, and technical knowledge complemented by general education relating to the paralegal field.

    Upon successful completion of a program of instruction, the graduate will be awarded an Associate of Arts in Paralegal Studies degree provided all financial obligations to the school have been met and a minimum grade point average has been attained. To graduate, a student must attain a minimum, cumulative grade point average of 2.0. In addition, all students must meet with Career Services and Financial Aid, and must complete and sign all documentation prior to being approved for graduation.

    With Platt College’s Paralegal programs, you will be trained to seek entry-level employment as Paralegal Assistants in the fast paced, exciting legal industry.

    These programs will give you the training and skills to perform essential legal procedures in a law office setting. You will gain an overall understanding of the legal process and the law practices necessary to be an effective paralegal. Learn valuable organizational, research, communication, interviewing and investigative, and office management skills.

    The Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication (BAVC) develops professionals who take concepts and then create visual imagery by employing type, illustration, sound, music, photography, and animation. Virtually every aspect of modern life is impacted by the visual communicator whether by products purchased, entertainment individuals enjoy, or the way in which people communicate. Graduates of the Bachelor of Arts in Visual Communication degree program will produce a professional portfolio that will make them candidates for entry-level employment in the myriad of industries related to visual communication.

    The BAVC program includes coursework in architectural 3D, video production, 3D character development, 3D texturing and lighting, advanced 3D animation, advanced drawing, advanced motion graphics, video compositing, and motion capture.

    The program concludes with interactive courses in portfolio preparation designed to better prepare graduates to conduct effective interviews, self-marketing, as well as produce a highly professional and competitive portfolio.
