Information on Programs Offered:Court Reporters are trained to type in excess of 200 words per minute on a stenotype machine while completing a specialized academic curriculum. A Certified Shorthand Reporter is licensed by the State of California to record verbatim testimony at various legal proceedings. In this exciting profession, you will have many career options, great flexibility, and excellent earning potential as you will be qualified to take down verbatim testimony to work in the following areas: - Actual Court Trials
- Rapid Data Entry
- Pretrial Hearings
- Depositions
- Closed Captioning
- Meetings
As a trained Paralegal, you will be responsible for highly specialized assignments that require an overall knowledge of the entire environment. At the completion of your program you will be proficient in legal office computer software, word processing, calendaring, typing, punctuation, English, and written and oral communications. Under the supervision of an attorney, you will prepare correspondence and legal papers such as summonses, complaints, motions, and subpoenas. You will also assist in many other facets of the fast-paced legal office environment. There is an increasing demand for educated Paralegal professionals. Career options range from working in a small office environment with fewer attorneys to working in a large law firm where expanded responsibilities and supervisory opportunities may be attainable.
