Information on Programs Offered:The Advanced Diagnostics program is designed to provide students with the technical skill set and an applied logical diagnostics approach to repairing sophisticated, late model vehicles and includes preparation for the California Smog Technician License Exam.The Advanced Diagnostics program is designed to provide students with the technical skill set and an applied logical diagnostics approach to repairing sophisticated, late model vehicles and includes preparation for the California Smog Technician License Exam.The aviation courses at WyoTech are approved by the FAA and are designed to prepare students for a variety of possible careers, such as: domestic or foreign airline technician, regional and commuter airline technician, helicopter operations, and airplane/helicopter manufacturing. The programs enable hands-on training in WyoTech’s well-equipped labs and shops.An Aircraft Mechanic performs the maintenance, inspection, and repair of an aircraft. Most aircraft mechanics work on a variety of different aircrafts and systems, such as the engines, brakes, landing gear, electrical systems and aircraft structures; but some specialize in repairing specific parts of the aircraft, such as the instruments or hydraulic systems. WyoTech?s Aircraft Mechanic program is approved by the Federal Aviation Administration and can be completed in 16 months. The new training format of the Applied Service Management program will allow you to focus in such areas as Automotive Technology and Management, Collision/Refinishing Technology and Management, Diesel Technology and Management, Collision/Refinishing with Chassis Fabrication and Management or Collision/Refinishing with Street Rod and Management. The Automotive Technology training program is comprehensive and up-to-date to prepare you for an exciting, hands-on career working as a professional automotive technician. Offered courses include Basic Engine Management Systems, Drivability Diagnostics, Drivetrain Systems and Chassis. The Diesel Technology curriculum is developed with the help of leading diesel industry manufacturers to ensure that your training is complete and up-to-date. The Electrician program will provide you with the necessary technical, scientific, communication, and interpersonal skills for successful employment. Whether you’re interested in basic motorcycle repair or looking to hone your skills with a specific brand or style, WyoTech offers the hands-on experience that can put your future on the fast track. The Associate of Occupational Studies in Plumbing Technology will prepare you to work in all phases of the plumbing field. You will gain the skills to perform plumbing tasks that include repairs and remodels, as well as new construction in the commercial or residential industry. Graduates of the Residential Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning program are prepared to specialize in residential heating and air conditioning service and repair. Employment opportunities that call for the knowledge presented in this program are entry-level positions such as A/C mechanic helper, furnace cleaner service, intermediate positions such as A/C unit assembler and heating mechanic.In this course, you will learn the techniques used to customize vehicles and create works of art. This course may be added to any of our core training. You will learn basic specialized sheet metal fabrication techniques as applied to customizing vehicles. These techniques will include the use of basic hand tools and specialized equipment like the english wheel, power hammer, planishing hammer, bead roller and louver press. Students enrolled in our Collision/Refinishing core have the option of enrolling in an additional course in Trim & Upholstery.
