Accreditation - Concorde is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education (COE) www.council.org, the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), and the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).

You will assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of cardio-pulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities, and use sophisticated equipment to measure lung function and monitor heart functions. You might treat newborns, trauma victims, drowning victims, and patients suffering from asthma, bronchitis, coronary heart disease, emphysema, and pneumonia.

At Concorde you will receive "multi-tasked" training, which means you will be trained in both clinical and administrative capabilities.

Clinical responsibilities include sterilizing and preparing instrument trays, exposing and processing x-rays, conducting oral inspections, preparing patients for treatment, and taking vital signs. Administrative responsibilities include patient charting, appointment setting, completing insurance forms, accounts payable and fee collections

You will assess patient records and classify levels of claims for reimbursement using detailed healthcare coding systems. Your work is essential to the success of your employer's medical business.

Medical Assistants work closely with doctors in clinics and physician's offices. You will be entrusted with a variety of critical responsibilities.

Administrative skills and responsibilities include scheduling and receiving patients, preparing and maintaining medical records, performing basic front office skills, handling telephone calls and written correspondence, serving as a liaison between physicians and other individuals, and managing practice finances.

Clinical responsibilities include taking patient histories and vital signs, performing first aid and CPR, preparing patients for procedures, assisting the physician with examinations and treatments, infection control, collecting and processing specimens, performing selected diagnostic tests, and preparing and administering medications as directed by the physician.

You will deal with life and death issues on a daily basis. You will conduct diagnostic testing procedures and administer treatments to improve patients' breathing, as well as implement and monitor life support equipment.

There are three major roles for entry-level surgical technologists - scrub, circulating assistant and second assisting. Scrub, circulating assistant and second assisting surgical technologists have primary responsibilities in maintaining the sterile field, being constantly vigilant that all members of the team adhere to proper technique.

The scrub surgical technologist in the scrub role handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. They maintain a sterile environment and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.

The surgical technologist in the circulating assistant role obtains additional instruments, supplies, and equipment while the surgical procedure is in progress. Monitors operating room conditions and assesses the needs of the surgical team in order to provide safe patient care.

The surgical technologist in the second assisting role assists the surgeon and / or surgeon's first assistant during the operative procedure by carrying out technical tasks other than cutting, clamping, or suturing of tissue. The second assisting role is distinct from surgeon's first assistant and may be performed at the same time as the scrub role.

As a licensed professional, the LVN uses the nursing process for patient assessment, to contribute to the nursing diagnosis made by the RN and for data collection, planning, implementation, and evaluation in providing care.

LVNs are integral to nursing. They provide individualized care in a variety of healthcare settings such as acute care, long-term care, home health care, and other community healthcare agencies.

Vocational nurse students benefit from extensive hands-on learning in one-year programs. Much of their preparation for nursing focuses on supervised clinical experiences with real clients in real health care facilities. This clinical component of education is one of the major strengths of the vocational nurse program.

Because of the versatility in their study, LVNs are among the most patient-focused members of any health care team.
