Medical Assisting Medical Assisting is a great career if you are interested in a medical career that involves working directly with patients in a doctor’s office or other medical setting, Medical Assisting might be the right career for you- especially if you are careful and can follow directions. Medical Assisting program is designed to provide you with comprehensive medical assisting skills, including intensive training in four areas: - Administration- learning to maintain medical records, legal requirements of confidentiality, insurance coding, and other front office skills.
- Clinical- working with patients, taking vital sings and preparing the patient for treatment.
- Laboratory – learning to draw blood, perform a variety of laboratory tests, and giving injections.
- Externship- the 160 hour externship, where you will work under supervision in a doctor’s office or clinic, will give you the opportunity to use all your skills and gain confidence in your abilities as a medical professional.
If you are interested in a medical career where you could work in either a hospital or retail setting and if you enjoy being in an environment where details are important, Pharmacy Technician could be a great career choice for you . Pharmacy Technicians are registered by the State of California and can work either in hospital pharmacies or in retail drug stores. Our intensive program is designed to prepare you for the workplace. In addition to classroom instruction, you will have a 160-hour externship, where you will work under supervision in a pharmacy, which will give you the opportunity to use all your skills and gain confidence in your abilities as a pharmacy technician. 1 Campus Location Salinas, CA
